Helping Tatum’s Garden grow

If you live in Salinas, you may have already heard of the drive to make the first all inclusive fully accessible park for children called Tatum’s Garden. This movement is starting to pick up steam and will be in the media a lot over the next couple of months. Once built, the park will benefit all children of Salinas, giving them all a place to play regardless of physical ability.

Smoot Family Chiropractic is truly part of the community in Salinas and we help out wherever we can. Our staff is currently helping with this effort because we truly believe it’s a worthy cause that will greatly benefit the children of Salinas.

In their own words from their website:
“Tatum’s Garden is a community-wide volunteer effort to build the first fully-inclusive and accessible playground in Salinas…a place where all children can come together, interact, be included and grow, through the gift of play.”

Please visit their site at www.tatumsgarden.org to get a feeling of what the movement is about, why it’s called what it is, and what it is they are planning. If you have the resources, please also consider gifting a tax deductible donation. You can also sponsor the program by sponsoring a picket that will make up a picket fence, or sponsoring a brick paver that will be used on the park grounds. Either option will allow you to have your family name, your child’s name or your business name permanently linked with this incredible and unique place!

Of course, you can also help by generously volunteering your time and efforts. We have made good progress but there is still much work ahead of us and we can use any help we get. This will be a park that is for the community and built by the community.

Stay tuned for more updates.
